A canopy tent has many different uses whether it be for camping or for a party in the backyard. Canopy tents can be bought new or used or rented from a tent rental store online like www.sears.ca   A canopy style tent comes ready for a party, a cheap fast gazebo, outdoor beach tent or that wedding your cousin Frankie had in New Jersey last summer.

Most of the canopy style tents are the pop up variety included with tent poles, which makes for a very portable awning when outdoors. They offer lots of shade and screen you from the sun and its powerful rays. There are many tent sales online and can be found at wholesale camping outlets for really cheap.

If you need your large 10×10 tent canopy to be taken on a long trip through Ohio to Florida it’s easy to fit inside a Dodge Caravan or any style mini van. The best canopy brands you can buy are the red and white 4 Wall Ez Up Canopy, Coleman tent amp canopy, and the Hillary tent canopy. All new tent canopy models come with one year manufacturer warranty.

So this outdoor season if you are looking to buy or rent a tent canopy maybe consult and online camping review website to help you see what products are out on the tent camping market.

Camping Tips are a great way to be prepared

Posted by | Discount Camping Gear | Wednesday 1 December 2010 2:46 pm

If you are a beginner camper, search online for the best camping tips from the people who know what camping is all about.  A good camping tip can spare you from that bad rash from spreading or save time with that great camp cooking tip to have all of your ingredients pre-measured before you leave.  There are so many great tips to learn from related to camping when surfing the net.

You can find group or RV family camping tips, hints and tricks for your tent, kid, car packing and more.  How about those all important survival safety tips like if you get lost in the woods while day hiking, remember to stop and stay in one place so that it makes it easier to find you.  It’s also a good idea to bring a cell phone & snack food with you and an even better idea is to hike with a friend and stay on the marked trails.

A good camping equipment tip is to always pack your recipes and belongings in a water-resistant backpack like North Face-TNF0624 or container just in case it starts to rain or accidentally falls into water.  I’ve also found tips for beach resort and Tanzania camping at classicsafaris.com.  Sometimes a pop up will show itself with a hint or tip of the day on popular camping web sites also.

The biggest tip of all is to make sure you have everything on your camping checklist from tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, camping furniture and all the camping stuff you could possibly need on your trip.

If you need more information about camping gear and supplies, read online consumer reports and reviews on some of the most popular camping products available at places like www.epinions.com or bizrate.com to name a couple of popular ones we use.

Camping Recipes that are fun and tasty for the family

Posted by | Camping Recipes | Wednesday 1 December 2010 2:34 pm

There are all types of camping recipes online for even the most frugal of tastes.  Get a free camp recipe from a veteran camper, boy and girl scouts and from full-blown gourmet chefs offering tip and tricks of the trade.  Don’t worry, just because the recipe is easy doesn’t mean it’s just roasting marshmallows outdoors.

Camping food recipes online come from all over the world with ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert meals.  Wouldn’t it be fun to have a menu ready for that large group of people you invited, waiting to see what dish comes out next off the campfire.

You can cook good recipes right on the camping grill-LPGI3, in a Dutch oven-L8DOL3, Wok- P14W3, in foil, a crock pot-66790 or a cast iron pan-6HS2L and whip up a quick pizza, fish with potatoes, kid meal or even a spectacular vegetarian or diabetic dish.  Some of the best recipes I’ve seen have been from doing a basic search on “camp recipes” and you won’t believe what comes up.

Why not try something new this camping season and take a great simple recipe with you that you’ve never tried before.  Also read great tips and tricks online, on how to better prepare yourself when packing for those tasty camping meals.

My  favorite and easy camping recipe, any time of the year and it’s Vegetarian to boot!

1 can of tuna, chunky or solid
2 tablespoons of ketchup, I prefer organic
1 tablespoon of pepper paste – found at most ethnic stores
1 large onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, chopped finely – you can omit if not a fan of garlic
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil – I like canola oil
salt and pepper to taste

Place a skillet on the grill, over the campfire (I like cast iron) and add oil.  Saute onions until fork tender.  Add garlic and saute for 1 min, then add the rest of the ingredients.  Mix and enjoy! My mama taught me this recipe and everyone loves it!!

Want a vegan camp recipe? Omit the tuna and add extra onion, garlic and replace with pre-cooked instant rice, also yummy!
